Arles chair

Originally, the structure of the arles chair was made of metal. Each tube was hooked to the others by a system of nuts and bolts. For this new version, I wanted to move away from industrial aesthetics, with a challenge in mind: only use wood, no hardware. The assembly is complex but it is fascinating at the same time. Indeed, the structure finds its equilibrium only when the last rod is attached to the others. I have to turn it around, rotate it in all directions for hours to create perfectly parallel lines. This approach in a way can be seen as a kind of taming of the object itself.
